Somethings are better left Untitled

This is one of my so-called 'poems' from eons ago that I still keep in my precious journals. I don't know what's the title of this particular one since it's so dark and sounded too pessimistic. I wrote this way back in 2005, during the darkest time of my life. This is the time when I was diagnosed with eczema and suffered pretty badly. I had to go back and forth to the hospital just to control it from being bad to worst, in which it did. Only family members and few of my friends knew how bad my health was at that time. So one day I just picked up the pen and wrote this out of whim. It's quite short but here it is, my still Untitled poem.

We're all looking for something;
the problem is how to go about finding it;
sometimes, it's the simple answers that leads us to the right direction;
sometimes, we're far too lost to know where we're heading;
sometimes, we can't find our way back;
sometimes, we even misplaced ourselves;
We're all looking for something;
the problem is how to go about finding it;
and the saddest part is when it can't be found.

Sorry my grammar sucks so I think there's a lot of grammatical mistakes there, but what the heck! I'm not English after all.

Miss you MJ!

It was the 1-year anniversary of the late Michael Jackson's death and I think you guys should watch this video.

It's been a year since his death. Despite what people said about him, I still think he's a great man. Miss you much!

Cup of Life

Currently: waiting for Argentina vs Mexico match to start
Current Location: physically, in Sibu, but spiritually, I'm in South Africa. Whatever that means...
Current Music: Too late for solutions to solve in the setting sun, So run my baby run my baby run

The 2010 World Cup has been very crazy and unpredictable so far. Who would have thought that Italy and France would lose. Well, I sure didn't. Portugal beat DPR Korea (the one where Ronaldo scored is one of my favorite goals in the world cup), Kaka received a red card, and Germany totally whipped England's ass. Despite all of that, I really enjoy watching all these teams play. It really is a beautiful game. Favorite player?? Messi of course! Oh, and I don't know why but I like Özil too.

So, last weekend I went out with my best friend, Syikin because I might not be able to see her again after this week. My flight to KL is on the 5th of July and I can't wait to get back there. I want to redeem myself after a very bad result last semester. Jia You Nora!! We also meet up with Akim and, I just love meeting old friends, especially those who already have a steady job, because they tend to pay for meals and who wouldn't like that? Hehe. Thanks Syikin and Akim! I would definitely cia ktk org makan mun saya pun dah keja lak okeh! These two are the best! We did some catching up and surprise surprise... I think one or two of my old schoolmates will tie the knot sometime next year. I hope it's true guys!

I forgot to mention that I bought a ukulele when I was in Kuching. So currently, my project is to beautify it. I'll post some pictures of the beautified ukulele sometime in the future. Until then, ttfn!

... Argentina is Awesome. I hope they'll win!

Intermission

Hi there! Since I've never talked about myself a lot here so I guess it's not wrong for me to make a late introduction of myself.

My name is Nora S. I'm 23 going on 24.

I'm a Malaysian. Living in Sarawak in a small town called Sibu.

I have a beautiful family, my lovely mom and dad and 4 lovely siblings, incidentally I'm the youngest child.

A huge fan of Star Wars.

I have a pet cat named Puteh (pronounced Poo-tayh). But as of now, I have no idea where she is... She's just wandered off one day and never came back since :(

I love Chocolates, daydreaming, music, Johnny Depp, reading books, writing, anime, manga youtube, procrastinating and I love my family very much.

I hate war.

I really don't like to get up early because I'm just not a morning person.

I always think that I'd become a somebody someday. But now, I'm not so sure anymore...

My favorite band is... hard to say. I used to love Taking Back Sunday (of course, I do still love these guys), but now I listened to Say Anything and Head Automatica a freakin' lot.

I also love Oreskaband, Chatmonchy, Less Than Jake, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Death Cab For Cutie, The Pixies, Bonnie Raitt, Aerosmith, Feist, YUI, Glay, Faizal Tahir, Zee Avi, Yuna, Ana Raffali, The Postal Service, Paramore, Muse, Kings of Convenience, Vampire Weekend, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, and the list just goes on and on.

I'm not fazed by these K-pop craziness that's going on now. I think they're fake. Cute? yes of course, but still, fake as fake can be.

I love food, without it I'd DIE.

I'm not very religious but I do have faith in it. Religion helped shape who I am today.

I'm not very good with it but I love to play the guitar. I self-taught by the way, since I'm too scared to ask my brothers to teach me. And my latest addiction is the ukulele.

I have this kind of a love hate relationship with my hair.

Sometimes I’m right but every other time I could be wrong.
Living is hard, it’s also too short, so I try to make the best of it anyway I can.

Until next time! Ciao Bella!!

'POP' at it's best

Currently… : pondering on some useless things, and I can’t sleep again.
Current location: Kuching, when I wrote this by the way. I'm already in Sibu when I posted this.
Current song: But if the chance remains, To see those better days, I cut the canons down, My ears are blown to bits, From all the rifle hits, But still I crave that sound

About a little more than a fortnight ago, I watched Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and I was just blown away by the similarities of the movie to the game. It was spectacularly dead on. I’m not kidding. Yes, I played the game, I’m a gamer. Well maybe I’m not very good but I can handle my games pretty well, and POP is among it. Thanks to Ubisoft, POP is one of my favorite games of all time. Ever since I heard that they wanted to make a movie based on the game with the same title, I reacted just like any fangirl would… I jumped up and down and then googled it all day just to get the dirt on it. But for the most part I just wanted to know the list of eligible actors that’s going to play as my favorite boyfriend, prince Dastan.

Believe me, Jake Gyllenhaal was not included on the list at all. ( but so did Zac Efron – I heard that he tried out for the part too, thank god he didn’t get it! ) The first time that I got the news he has landed the gig… I revolted and feeling a bit sad, at that moment, but it was ok. He’s not bad, but I don’t know why I disagree with  him playing as the lead either. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen Brokeback Mountain after I heard that he’s going to play the prince or he’s just not Persian looking enough. I’m not so sure, maybe it’s both. I have nothing against Brokeback or Jake for that matter, in fact I think he’s quite cute. (especially in shorts and white t-shirt. Have you seen the vampire weekend video? Shudders )

I think the problem is just that I have a very high expectation of the prince, well come on, he’s the Prince. The famous Prince Dastan from Prince of Persia game franchise. Of course I expect nothing less from the actors that’s going to play his part. Prince Dastan is one hell of a prince. He’s smart, cunning (in a good sense), brave, strong, a quick thinker, funny, cynical, and not a softie. Oh, did I mention he’s beautiful? Yeah, he’s beautiful. I’m a fangirl, what do you expect? :D Although I have some doubts of Mr. Gyllenhaal capabilities to carry the part as Prince Dastan, I think he's done a great job in the movie and make it seem believable (just a little, I still think he's not persian looking enough!), much to my surprise.

But all in all, I think I really enjoyed the movie from beginning till end.  It has a very subtle and beautiful romance, mixed with action and thrill and most of all, the awesome work of CGI. It never ceases to amaze me of what technology can do nowadays, especially in entertainment industries. Kudos to Bruckheimer for yet another great movie and for producing it. This is a movie that I would go to twice, no wait, make it thrice, and a must have to be added to your dvd collection. Heee ( … and squealed like a fangirl )
